Hello!

A few of my orchids are really ill. I susupect Colletotrichum, but I'm not sure!
Infected plants are isolated.

Infected plants:
Gramm. multiflorum
Aerides rosea
Angraecum calceolus
Ascofinetia cherry blossom
Dendrochillum glumaceum

Can anyone identify the disease. Please ... :|

most of these signs might be a fungus-manifestation. Don“t sprax these orchids whilst being in stress due to the wintertime. No reason isolating these plants as moving them means a further stress-factor to them. Some of ours look the same but will recover in about March again.

From your mouth to gods ears theo!

I'm afraid it would spread among the other orchids.

Hello

Personaly i would move them, but not too far away. Like theo says they don't need the extra stress so if you can either move them a away a little or move other healthy orchids from around them so they are in there own air space.

It does look to be a fungus problem. I would only spray them is the marks are still there later in the year when they are growing again to be sure the problem has gone. some of mine, mainly my odont alliance orchids (if i can still call them that or should it now be oncidium alliance) in the winter it starts and in spring they simply grow again normaly. the marks tend to dry out and go a brown colour sometimes.

By the way, please can i use some of these pics (if not all of them) in the doc i am doing for the forum about pests and other problems?

Happy orchid growing
F2F :)

I got some of this just a couple of months ago in some seedling Cymbidiums. I moved them across the greenhouse to somewhere with better air movement, and fewer plants, just to try to make the environment as 'anti-fungal' as possible, and stopped spraying them for a couple of weeks. The fungus is not spreading, and the areas are drying, so I'm happy with the result.

Just thought I'd tell you, in case this helps

Dan

Thank you. I already moved them away from other orchids. I don't spray them and hopping for good results. ;)

Yes i recognize them - I think similar drops of water - sun - get burned and fungus attack... for some plants it is no different like some Epidendrums but for some could still be deadly...
