Right, things are worse than I thought! Took it out of its pot to find that it only has one root and few stumps that I managed to save.
I need help in making a plan of action to make this plant recover and encourage it to produce new roots.
1. I've heard cinnamon would help on the ends of the roots, or maybe rooting powder with fungicide?
2. Also, should I leave it unplanted until it regrows some more roots? I'm not sure where I should out it though - would it be fine laying flat on a plate or better off upright in a pot of perlite?
3. Should I take a couple of the leaves off, so that it just has one pair? I know how to get ordinary softwood cuttings to root by reducing the leaf area to stop it losing water but I have no idea if this is a good idea for orchids. I'm worried that this plant has an awful lot of leaf compared to root.
4. Do I need to mist it daily/weekly? What about feeding it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated here. I'm determined to help this little fella get better!
